The Canyon Ferry Walleye Tournament launched at Silos recreation area, and was a smashing success. Approximately $25,000 in cash and prizes was handed out. With so much fun and so many prizes, don't miss next year's premiere fishing event!

August 3-6 Broadwater County Fair & Rodeo
Townsend 406-266-9251. The Broadwater County Fair and Rodeo begins with ‘local kids’ rodeo on Thursday, followed by NRA-approved rodeo on Friday and Saturday. The rodeo concludes on Sunday with local adults. The fair involves local and 4-H exhibits and a livestock sale, along with a barbecue, local entertainment, advance on Saturday after the rodeo and other festivities.

September 1- October 31 Townsend Maze
Townsend 406-266-3568. Townsend Maze is an entertaining and educational opportunity for all ages. You will be faced with the challenge of finding your way through a maze cut into 15 acres of tall corn. Small children will be able to enjoy a straw hay bale maze and ‘corn’ treats are available.
September 30, August 1 Fall Fest
Townsend 449-1619. A little bit of everything with lots of Old Fashion fun for the entire family will be found at the Townsend Fall Fest. There's something for every taste, age, and interest with a Military Parade, 50 Craft Vendors, Numerous Food Vendors including Rotary's Famous Brats, Music-Music-Music (German, Polka, Country Western & Old Time Fiddle) Kids Games, Variety Show, Military Displays & Beer Garden. The Townsend Car Show starts Sunday with antique and classic cars from Montana & the Northwest to view and vote on. Saturday: Parade, Craft Fair, German Bands and Oktoberfest, Military Displays; Sunday: Craft Fair, Car Show, Music and Talent Show. Saturday parade starts at 11:00am in downtown Townsend. Car Show is on Sunday. Peoples' Choice Award. Scarecrow Contest, Military Shows, Clowns.
December 2, Townsend Christmas Stroll
Townsend 406-266-4101. The Townsend Christmas Stroll is that Norman Rockwell image of a small community in the Spirit of the Season. Children at play, artisans selling their hand produced wares, local entertainers sharpening their thespian chops, the smells of roast beast and sweet confections loft through the crisp December air. Through all of this you hear the soft foot falls of horse-drawn hayride, and the smell of freshly cut Christmas trees. Revitalized downtown Broadway Street is closed except for foot traffic with the museum and local stores all providing their usual fine selections as well as providing artisans with a venue to provide the public with those products you won’t find elsewhere.
