Canyon Ferry Reservoir aerial view
At 3800 feet above sea level, Canyon Ferry Lake is a reservoir that begins at the northern edge of Townsend and is fed by the Missouri River. The lake is 35,181 acres with 76 miles of shoreline. Many types of fish are found in the lake including rainbow trout, yellow perch, ling (burbot) and walleye.
